Worldline: partner of Edenred and Sodexo for the roll out of electronic meal vouchers

Brussels, 2 September 2013

Worldline, the Atos subsidiary specialised in electronic payments and high-tech transactional services, has concluded a cooperation agreement with Edenred and Sodexo. In concrete terms, Worldline offers retailers wanting to install a payment terminal the possibility to directly integrate the services of these two market leaders. This agreement will contribute to the roll out of electronic meal vouchers and reinforce Worldine’s role as a benchmark in the electronic payments sector.

Worldline signed an agreement with Sodexo and Edenred, the two leaders in the electronic meal vouchers market. Worldline now offers its clients the possibility to accept electronic meal vouchers upon acquiring a payment terminal. In concrete terms, if a food store or a restaurant wishes to accept electronic meal vouchers, Worldline will install the appropriate software in the terminals. In addition it will ensure that these businesses are integrated in the network of retail partners of Sodexo and Edenred.

Moreover, this cooperation will enable Worldline to improve the service it offers to its clients and partners alike and to establish itself as the benchmark specialist in all matters relating to electronic payments.

We are extremely satisfied with this cooperation agreement, which strengthens our position as supplier of payment services and terminals. This will allow us to offer a better service to our partners and customers in the food and catering industry. They will be able to accept electronic meal vouchers on their existing terminals”, notes Virginie Waroquiers, General Manager Sales, Marketing and Strategy at Worldline.

“In line with increasing employee demands, this agreement will facilitate the expansion of the use of electronic meal vouchers in Belgium, said Jean-Bernard Trussart, CEO of Edenred, one of the Belgian issuers of electronic prepaid vouchers.
